Results = Relief

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

So results finally came! On wednesday I had to wake up at 6 and quickly went online but….couldnt log in to ssabsa’s website! Arggh…the past night had been an agony in itself, waking up at 2,3,4,5 am. Now u telme that i cant log in?? After countless clickings and silent swearings i Finally managed to log in at about 8am and guess what? I was plain relieved =)

Well..let’s just say my results fulfilled wad was expected of me by my lecturers, exactly wad dey forecast and at that moment, whew! It’s like a big heavy stone being lifted off ur shoulders. All those fears of promising so much and yet not delivering were gone in a puff and my, am i glad!

Went to take my results yesterday morning and gosh, did i feel like a fugitive! All over the college were posters wif photos of d six 99.95 ppl…It feels weird having ur photo staring back at u from all corners of d college and also d fact that everyone’s looking at ur pic…Anyway, talkin bout pics, after taking my results came the horrible part: Posing for pics under the hot sun for d PR ppl! OMG..wif my thick shirt and d super hot sun, i nearly got a heatstroke. WHY can’t dey take photos insid a nice aircond room?

Oh well, I guess there’s a price to pay for doing well. On top of that, there’s an Award Ceremony tomorrow…rumour has it that u’ll have to go up the stage once for every A20 that u get…Let’s face it, it’s more of a PR stunt, innit? Ahh, the price of doing well. But perhaps i’ll just see it as sum kinda gesture of appreciation to the college for their guidance and stuff throughout my time here.

Anyway,

Congratulations to all the SAM top achievers! Really fantastic, you guys and gals! All our hard work has paid off and now it’s off to uni :)

A foggy 5 hours…what lies ahead?

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

Today must be one of the weirdest days i’ve ever had this year. I actually went up to Genting and came back down just 5 hours after reaching. Err, actuali i onli spent 2 hours 15 minutes at the peak. Haha.

Oh Well, it WAS an eventful 5 hours. I went as escort to my dad who had to settle some business there but it finished early so what do two ppl wif some free time do? Ahh…it’s genting after all rite? Went up for a spin, had lunch n i had a heart-stopping sms from des as dessert!

Can’t really remember the exact words but it was along the lines of "results are coming out tomorrow"! Arghh… n dey can’t confirm whether v can take d cert at college 2moro so i’ll have to wakeup early to call d office n everything…

So what lies ahead now? I reali dun know. On one hand, i oni need TER 85 to get to aus nex year which, i know i can veri well fulfill. BUT wat about lecturers’ hopes? People who’ve been kind to me all year, hoping that i get the very best…? It sucks knowing that I may well disappoint them when it’s announced tomorrow.

Ah. Perhaps it’l b btr if i just instill a lil bit more of a selfish mentality and just focus on anu.

Still, today was quite fun in a way. We went in circles searching for a korean restaurant tht serves great fare according to my dad oni to find out tht it’s bin closed…So we had somethng else but it was on d way to skway, past a biscuit shop tht the funniest thg happened:

Shopkeeper : Come, try this heong peah! It’s a very famous brand with 40 years of history, new stocks arrive in the morning and by night they’re finished! Come buy some! (all these were said in a super enthusiastic bullet speed style)

Me (trying not to laugh) : Err, where does this biscuit come from?

Shopkeeper : Teluk Intan.

LOL! I wanted to show her my IC then n there but then…got a cable car to catch. Btr leave her wif d illusion tht she just failed to convince me to buy d biscuits rather thn embarass her, no?

At least that’s something nice today. Hope it’l b even btr tomoro =)

Holidays…

I looked at the calendar and i realized that i havent gone online for like, yeah. almost 3 weeks. wow. (at least, that shows that i’m not an internet addict)

Well, it certainly isnt very appealing to go online when you’ve gotta put up with dialup speed so i guess i just kept delaying the whole thing…sorry jason, louis n chunwah, i noe u guys r waiting for d corroboree photos but i left my camera in kl…hehehe.

Corroboree was ok i guess? Everyone who did talk to me said my hair looked nice(?) plus some even thought i had graduated to contacts! Nah…i just took my glasses off. So i ended up seeing blurred shadows for half of the night until i got tired of it and gave up. lol. the photo-taking was nice but d food was…well, as jason put it, my uncle’s cooking is way better!

After that i rushed back for dyc…managed to help for a day or two..really, i thought i’d faint from fatigue. But it was fun all the same, seeing miracles happen (five and a half out of seven in my opinion, oni wooileong would understand) and it was great to see the committee members being so dedicated to making it a success.

Where was i? ah, yes..then came the Great Boredom. Just lazing around watching astro n playing warcraft, winning eleven, ground control 2 (it sucked so much i uninstalled it after just two sessions). but then again it was therapeutic in a way. gosh..when was the last time i played so much?

And last week was the Great Rush! Went out every day in kl doing sth..winter shopping (it’s sales now, btr grab b4 it’s too late), taking measurements for blazer, goin out wif jason, omg it was a darn tiring week. on the bright side of things, my laptop is coming back nex week with increased RAM etc so goodbye to the long booting up time!

Today…Xmas came early cos broadband is finally here! Lols…it means i can now go on9 for long periods of time and more importantly, surf much faster. Ah, the bliss….

Allright, i guess that’s all for now. Take care guys.
